One part South African, one part American, Natasha and Jason started their adventures in the food industry in Seattle, WA. Natasha missed home and wanted to share the delicious baked goods and tea culture of South Africa with Seattle, so they opened Cederberg Tea House—A South African tea house and bakery.
As anyone who has eaten South African food would expect, the shop was a roaring success. But, it wasn’t enough; they had brought a piece of South Africa to America, but Natasha still missed home. So they sold the shop, packed their bags, loaded their home into a 20ft container and their three cats into crates and moved back to Jozi.
Having spent many years in America, and being that Jason is American, Natasha knew that just as she had missed South Africa, they would both miss America too, specifically the South. Jason’s mom is from the South and during the time that they spent there, it had come to hold a special place in their hearts.
Southern American culture is a lot like South African culture. Good food, good drinks, good friends, lots of laughs and a few more drinks.
Now, much like they did in Seattle but in reverse, they are bringing a slice of America to South Africa; they can’t wait to share it with you.
